Fequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to some of the most common questions our users have, designed to help you get the most out of Whiteboard Recorder and address potential challenges proactively
How is Whiteboard Recorder different from other online whiteboards or screen recorders I might already use?
Whiteboard Recorder uniquely combines a full-featured online whiteboard with robust screen recording capabilities, including a front-camera overlay, all seamlessly integrated and accessible directly within your browser. This means you can visually explain, narrate, and record your content in one intuitive flow, eliminating the need for separate tools and complex post-production editing.
Can I use Whiteboard Recorder for live teaching, online presentations, or detailed tutorials?
Absolutely! Whiteboard Recorder is perfectly designed for live teaching, dynamic presentations, and comprehensive tutorials. The unique front-camera overlay allows you to appear alongside your whiteboard content, fostering personal connection, while multi-tab projects (Premium feature) enable you to organize and seamlessly transition between different concepts, making your sessions highly engaging and structured.
How can I share my whiteboard projects or recorded videos with others, especially for collaboration?
Premium users can easily share their whiteboard projects and recordings. After recording, your video is automatically saved locally for download. For sharing your whiteboard project, simply click the 'Share' button (Premium feature) to generate a unique URL. Anyone with this URL can open a view-only copy of your project, allowing for easy distribution and reference. Please note that modifications made to the shared copy will not affect your original version.
Can I use this without a touchscreen or drawing tablet?
Absolutely! While drawing tablets provide the most natural experience, you can create professional content using just your mouse. Our tools are optimized for both input methods.
How does the video recording work?
We use your browser's built-in screen recording technology. You can record your screen activity, include webcam overlay, and capture audio simultaneously. The final video downloads directly to your computer.
What video formats are supported for download?
Recordings are saved as WebM files, which are compatible with all major video platforms and devices. Images can be downloaded as PNG files for maximum quality and compatibility.
Whenever I select an object on the whiteboard, the properties window appears. How can I prevent the properties window from showing, as I've finished designing and only need to select objects to show users?
Simply click the "Show Property" button in the bottom toolbar once to unlock the properties button. The properties window will no longer appear until you click the button again.
How do I delete objects on the whiteboard?
You can use the eraser tool to delete objects, or, when an object is selected, click the trash can icon in the properties panel. If multiple objects are selected, you’ll see the trash can icon in the bottom toolbar. The quickest way, however, is to press the "Delete" key on your keyboard when the object is selected.
Is my data secure, especially since I'm logging in with Google and potentially saving to the cloud?
Yes, your data security and privacy are our top priorities. We utilize Google Login for secure authentication, leveraging Google's industry-leading security protocols to protect your account. For Premium users, all cloud-saved projects are stored securely, ensuring your content is protected and accessible only to you or those you explicitly choose to share it with.
What are the main limitations of the Free Plan, and how do I upgrade to Premium?
The Free Plan allows you to create and save projects locally, utilize all drawing tools, and record videos up to 3 minutes in length. Upgrading to Premium unlocks unlimited recording time, secure cloud storage for your projects, instant project sharing via unique URLs, and the ability to create unlimited project tabs. You can easily upgrade to Premium by navigating to your 'Account Information' section within the product.
How do I modify and cancel my subscription?
